To the tippity Top(Shop)!

I didn't get to see Designer Drugs or Friendly Fires on Friday night, but I sure did get my TopShop tote bag! The promotional TopShop truck (sponsored by Heartschallenger) is traveling throughout the hottest spots in NYC from March 23rd to April 1st, giving out free tote bags filled with goodies and...free gift cards!!

They are worth anywhere between $30-$500 dollars and only good for opening day.
I have work (yuck) but I will so be there after, right in the middle of all the madness.

Viva la TopShop!

Swan song

"I've developed into quite a swan. I'm one of those people that will probably look better and better as I get older - until I drop dead of beauty." -Rufus Wainwright

Bare legs and sunshine!

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain

We're all mad here

One of my first posts on this blog was about masks, which was initially inspired by some amazing images of Chloe Sevigny and then further inspired by the same person who masterminded the photos below. Oladios of Flickr's photostream reminds me of traveling through an almost Alice in Wonderland-like dream - simultaneously wonderful and strange.

Shine on

It's official, the apartment has taken over my life! I am 100% in enamored with the way it is turning out, though :) In more good news - my scanner is working! This has been something that has been plaguing me ever since I started this blog. Maybe even before that...
I will also be posting more outfit posts now that I have a tripod and a wonderful location. So many new things! All at once!

This photo of Ms Lanphear is breathtaking

Things I'm loving/doing/being

Loving this image of Mary-Kate from Interview magazine and Cecilia Mendez, whom I saw in a poster for an H&M denim campaign and just thought she was so endearingly elfin-like.

Doing some DIY for the first time in eons. And then some more eons. I have so many other projects in mind and once this whole 'moving in' thing is over, I'm so looking forward to starting them! (One project may or may not involve...googly eyes) The shorts were plain white stretch denim shorts I bought from Sal Army for $2. I tie-dyed them using spray dye, chopped off a couple inches with a razor blade (for the 'frayed' look), razored the top of the pockets, and added some studs! Super fun, super easy, can't wait to wear 'em.

Being
late in the game:
Being frugal is something I can openly admit to, and really it's more of a survival technique than anything. However enamored by a new trend I may be, you will always find me trying to find a knockoff at Forever 21, H&M, or thrift stores. (It's so bad that once, on a Sunday mind you, I saw a bunch of people leaving church and thought there was a tag sale going on. Yeah, it's like that.)

Needless to say, by the time these trends trickle down to the masses, it's a little late in the game - I bought the pictured boots above just yesterday. I've been lusting after THE Guess boots forevverrr but the price tag (even now, $139) scared me away. So when I was able to buy not one, but both pair of boots above for a mere $24 - how could I refuse?
**I definitely had this image in my subconscious when purchasing the Alice + Olivia sweater boots!
